『 NTU – SEARCA collaborate for a joint MS scholarship program on Global ATGS 』
This is a partnership between the Master Program in Global Agriculture Technology and Genomic Science (Global ATGS) of the National Taiwan University (NTU) and SEARCA. The joint scholarship program aims to cultivate agricultural professional talents, encourage academic excellence, and promote research and development of agriculture within Southeast Asia. Successful recipients of the scholarship will gain deeper understanding of smart farming technology, genome science research, and breeding science and technology. The Master Program is offered by the International College of National Taiwan University.
The scholarship is open to nationals of the regular member countries of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), namely: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam who are interested in enrolling to the Master Program in Global ATGS of NTU. The scholarship award duration is two years.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The following are the scholarship eligibility criteria:
- Must be nationals of SEAMEO member countries;
- Must not be more than 35 years of age at the time of application; and
- Planned research must be in line with the priority areas of SEARCA’s Eleventh Five-Year Plane., agri-business models for increased productivity and income, sustainable farming systems and natural resource management, food and nutrition security, transformational leadership for agriculture and rural development (ARD), gender and youth engagement in ARD, enhanced ARD towards climate resilience, and eco-health/one-health applications to ARD.
Scholarship Entitlements
The successful scholarship recipient is entitled to the following:
- Tuition and other school fees
- Travel allowance to cover international airfare
- Book and supplies allowance
- Health insurance
- Living allowance for food, lodging and incidental expenses
