Description
Ecophysiology explores how organisms function, interact, and adapt under changing environmental conditions. This course introduces the physiological mechanisms by which plants and insects acquire, allocate, and conserve resources, maintain homeostasis, and respond to abiotic and biotic stress. It also examines the molecular mechanisms that regulate these responses, including signal perception, hormone-mediated pathways, gene regulation, and metabolic adjustments. The course also explores ecophysiological perspectives on agriculture and climate change biology through selected research articles.
More introduction
Students are expected to complete the assignment and assigned readings. Students will deliver oral presentations and participate in class discussions. Regular attendance and active participation are expected throughout the semester.
