Description
The purpose of this course is to help students cultivate the academic competence by equipping with skills to achieve effective discipline-specific and cross-disciplinary communications, with special emphasis on writing and speaking.
More introduction
This course introduces students to writing conventions in academic English, to the framework of each part of a journal paper, and to presentation skills and tactics. Specifically, students will be engaged in purposefully designed classroom activities that enable them to conduct audience/reader analysis, incorporate syntactic and semantic clarity, utilize progression and transition strategies, and evaluate overall language usages in both their written and oral productions.
